Mar. 27 - More than 750 competitors set off on the 18 mile long (29.1km) second stage of the Marathon des Sables, a six day (243km) endurance race across the Sahara Desert in Morocco.


For the second day in a row, Moroccan brothers Mohammed and Lahcen Ahansal were the fastest to cross the finishing line.

The second stage of the marathon took the runners through rocky terrain, valleys and over steep mountain passes in temperatures of up to 104 degrees fahrenheit (40 degrees celsius).
